What type of room will we need for your headshots
In practice almost any meeting room works.
Space in your offices
We can set up an adhoc studio space pretty much anywhere. We don't need an expanse of empty space, or for that matter, a furniture free space to assemble our lights and backdrop. We pride ourselves on flexibility and have learned a few tricks over the years. We also appreciate that modern offices usually have comms equipment wired in through the desks and tables anyway which makes moving certain objects complicated. Having said that, we do need a minimum of 4 metres by 4 metres. This allows us put distance between the subject and the background, which is what stops a portrait looking like a passport photo. Three metres will do at a push but to be honest, bigger is better. The bigger the space you can arrange, the more oprions we will have for lighting and poses
Power and quiet
One power socket minimum and a door that shuts. People relax when nobody is walking past and who wants an audience?
Do we need large windows and daylight?
Absolutely not. In fact, quite the opposite. We always prefer a space where we can limit external light that would inevitably change throughout the day as the sun rises and falls. Our studio equipment gives us consistent lighting for the entire shoot.
What we bring
We bring everything we need. Before shoot day we will have a conversation with you to talk about the look and feel you need for the images. There may be existing brand guidelines to follow or we might be doing something brand new. We like to travel as light as possible to avoid the dreaded corporate loading bay. A normal shoot would include, wheeled travel cases and back packs containing, cameras, lenses, laptop as well as all lighting and backdrops. This can usually be brought in through your reception area. That would be our preferred entry route to your building. It just saves time if you provide a contact to sign us in. Bigger projects mean we'll load up and arrive a bit earlier in the van.
